Garda 7s Gaelic Football competition.

On Friday 20th of Oct 10 pupils from 6th class played in the Garda 7s Gaelic Football competition. We had 2 tough matches in our Group and lost those but we were obviously saving the best ’till last! We went on to the ‘Runners Up’ category and had blistering performances in our last 2 matches. …

Hurling and Camogie blitz

A very enjoyable, non competitive hurling and camogie blitz was organised by the Transition Year pupils in Gort Community School on Wed 11th of October. The weather thankfully cleared up and pupils from 5th and 6th class had a great day. They were even treated to lunch in the school canteen.

A huge thanks to Heidi for visiting the school. Heidi works in our local leisure centre and spent the morning putting pupils and teachers through their paces! She had us ‘moving and grooving’ to music and all the pupils really enjoyed it! Thanks Heidi

A new year and a new challenge! 5th and 6th class pupils started Tag rugby this week.  A coach from the Connacht branch is coming to train us for 6 weeks on the basics of the game. We enjoyed trying out something new and it sure gets us moving!
