Camogie blitz

Well done to the school camogie team on a huge effort in the Cumann na mBunscoil blitz in Kilbeacanty 27th April 2018. They had 4 matches to play back to back and worked very well putting in a great team effort. The girls won their first 2 matches against Lough Cutra/ St. Columba’s and Moyglass …

Playground Leaders

We have Playground Leaders at lunch time to help to organise various activities for the pupils. We have had fun using elastic bands and jumping games, beanbag games, snatch the bacon, throwing games etc. It’s a good way to keep active especially for those who don’t play soccer or other games.

Tag Rugby blitz

4 teams from 5th and 6th class attended a really fun Tag Rugby blitz against 2 other teams from Northampton in St. Colman’s Park last Monday. It was organised by Nicole our Tag Rugby coach. The smiles and red faces afterwards showed that every pupil enjoyed the blitz and we were kindly treated to refreshments …

Garda 7s Gaelic Football competition.

On Friday 20th of Oct 10 pupils from 6th class played in the Garda 7s Gaelic Football competition. We had 2 tough matches in our Group and lost those but we were obviously saving the best ’till last! We went on to the ‘Runners Up’ category and had blistering performances in our last 2 matches. …

Hurling and Camogie blitz

A very enjoyable, non competitive hurling and camogie blitz was organised by the Transition Year pupils in Gort Community School on Wed 11th of October. The weather thankfully cleared up and pupils from 5th and 6th class had a great day. They were even treated to lunch in the school canteen.
