STEPS Engineer Project

,

Third class took part in the STEPS Young Engineer Project this year. They started working on these projects in early November. They worked in groups of 6 to think about problems in the town of Gort and how they could work as engineers to solve them. They designed prototypes of their solutions and evaluated how they worked. On November 25th, they had a visit from Donna who works with STEPS Young Engineers and she taught them all about her job as a civil engineer. They presented their projects to Donna and received fantastic feedback. They submitted their finished projects last week. They have learned so much about the work carried out by engineers and our ‘young engineers’ reported that they really enjoyed this challenge from start to finish. Maith sibh go leir!
