Gort National School prides itself on being involved in as many sporting activities as possible. We have strong links with the Gort GAA Club and have coaching in both Hurling and Camogie in the school. Our team participates in Cumann na mBunscoil, The Garda Blitz and events organised for Primary Schools.
A highlight of the school year is the Eileen Brennan Memorial which takes place every June. Children from 3rd to 6th are involved in the tournament and we always look forward to the final.
Children get the opportunity to go swimming for 6 weeks each year. We use The Lady Gregory Swimming Pool.
We have provided workshops and lessons in tennis, tag rugby, football, soccer and skipping and will continue to do so as the opportunity arises.
