Recently, the pupils in 4th class completed history projects based on the theme of history in our locality. Research was conducted on Coole Park and Lady Gregory, Kilmacduagh, Thoor Ballylee, Gort Library and the Hayes family’s Creamery to mention but a few. 4th class have been busy working on their clay pieces in art. They used their imagination to create pinch pots, coil pots and a variety of other pieces.
We recently celebrated Science Week in our class. We explored balance and had fun finding our centre of gravity. We also investigated and compared our fingerprints.
Our class collage based on Van Gogh’s famous painting ‘Sunflowers’. We used bright colours just like Van Gogh did in his later paintings. Come see it on our classroom door!
Our artist of the month is Picasso. We looked at some of his famous paintings and then we created our own Picasso inspired pieces.
4th class boys and girls took part in the FAI Futsal Blitz in Gort Community Centre recently. They played matches against other local schools and a great day out was had by all.
What a treat we had today. 4th, 5th and 6th class performed various different dances at their Irish dancing concert. It was great to see their instruction from Louise was well worth the effort. Great to see the pupils “grooving and moving!”
